London Wedding Photographer – Top Venues
As a London wedding photographer I have had the privelage of photographing weddings at some of London’s top wedding venues. I thought it would be great to write about a few of them and why they are amongst my favourite venues.
Old Royal Naval College in Greenwich
The Old Royal Naval College in Greenwich is one such venue, shown in the image above. Set right beside the River Thames it consists of a series of spectacular old buildings. There are numerous places where one can get married at the Old Royal Naval College and the Painted Hall is surely one of London’s finest. It is absolutely spectacular. What is great about this venue is that there are options for all budgets so if it isn’t the Painted Hall, then it could be the King William Undercroft or the gorgeous but intimate Admiral’s House. There is a great sense of grandeur and history at this venue, and it is no surprise that it has featured in numerous blockbuster films.
From a London wedding photographer’s point of view, one of the best attributes is the stunning architecture which really opens up the opportunities to capture gorgeous images. Kew Gardens Weddings
Another spectacular and also world famous venue to get married at is, Kew Gardens. Kew Gardens weddings are pretty special indeed. Likewise, there are a number of venues within the gardens where one can get married, such as Cambridge Cottage, the Nash Conservatory or the Joseph Banks Building. Evening receptions are not only possible in these buildings, but also in the Orangery and the Princess of Wales Conservatory. In my opinion it is very difficult to beat this venue for sheer beauty! Stunning architecture and beautiful gardens make Kew Gardens a pretty special London wedding venue. The Nash Conservatory is my favourite and from a wedding photographer’ point of view, all the natural light flooding in is fantastic.
Another great perk of getting married at Kew Gardens is the golf buggy which is made available to the bride and groom, and of course the photographer. It is a really efficient way to zip around and capture a range of romantic couple portraits in a variety of locations while your guests are enjoying a drink. The Ritz London Weddings
I’ll finish off with another of my favourite London wedding venues – this time The Ritz London. Hotels do not come much grander than this! It is opulent and utterly spectacular. If you have never visited The Ritz London before, you are in for a treat. As with any luxury brand, the service levels are impeccable and on a side note, the coffee is the best I have ever tasted! The interior of course offers a very grandiose setting for photographs, which are limited in certain areas in order to ensure the guest’s privacy, but there are still plenty of very photogenic opportunities. On such location with the hotel is the William Kent room, which offers the utmost in luxury and is essentially a dining room.
The hustle and bustle of central London is available as soon as you step out of the front doors, with Green Park right next to the hotel. If you are getting married and would like to discuss your wedding photography at The Ritz London, please contact me and we can take it from there.
Now you can see how I, as a London wedding photographer, am really fortunate to have the privelage to photograph weddings at some of the top wedding venues!
