Yiran and Wanqing booked me for their wedding photography at Le Gothique in Wandsworth, South West London, a few months ago. Yiran got in touch with me after a recommendation from one of my previous clients, which is great! Le Gothique is a very unique London wedding venue. It is a Grade II listed building, former orphanage and MI5 and MI6 apparently used the venue during the war. Nestled inside is a very cosy garden where the ceremony was held. Yes that’s right, an outdoor wedding in London in March! The weather was fabulous throughout and not too cold either.
Rewinding a bit, I started off photographing the bride and groom preparations at their house a short drive away. The house was buzzing with excitement when I walked in and as always, time really flies during this part of the day! The Rolls Royce from Le Gothique then arrived and we all jumped in our cars and made our way to the venue. We planned a brief couple shoot before the ceremony so as soon as we arrived we went straight into this before making our way inside the venue and to the garden for the outdoor ceremony.
After the ceremony everyone enjoyed a drink or three out in the garden before finally moving inside to the bar area. Wanqing then surprised everyone with a change of her dress and she looked absolutely amazing once again and needless to mention, Yiran was well impressed to put it mildly! After a couple of very amusing speeches and cutting the cake I wrapped up and said my goodbyes. A thoroughly enjoyable day!
