After their Sikh wedding the day before in Slough, it was time for Amrita & Jag’s Froyle Park wedding reception. It is a new venue hosting weddings and is just down the road from its lovely sister venue Northbrook Park, where I have shot numerous weddings.
Having arrived nice and early I took a stroll around the property and the grounds and it is a fabulous venue, really offering a lot. Set in rural countryside with sheep grazing in an adjacent field and peacocks roaming about, it is a nice alternative to a city wedding. Guests started arriving by coach and soon enough it was time to start. Amrita and Jag made their entrance down a decorated staircase with a dohl drummer playing as they made their way down to greet family and friends. The weather was great and we enjoyed some time outdoors on the terrace in the sun with drinks and canapes. This is a great time to capture some lovely natural shots. In fact the overwhelming majority of my wedding photography style is capturing events as they unfold, really focusing on the moments.
Soon enough it was time for everyone to make their way inside for the next part of the reception, which started with the cutting of the cake, popping the champagne and some family photos before everyone took their seats for the speeches. I really enjoy listening to the speeches when I am photographing and these were highly entertaining to say the least. After speeches we quickly popped outside for a short couple shoot. The light was gorgeous and we did a quick little sequence before getting back to the party.
Then it was time for the first dance followed by one of the best and busiest dancing sessions I have been to in ages! The dance floor was absolutely jam packed throughout, and I was there a couple of hours before I wrapped up. Highly entertaining and the dohl drummer even got up to play, wearing a coat, adorned with LEDs, which was plugged into the wall – I hope he had some good fuses inside that coat too!
That wrapped up a really enjoyable wedding reception. It was a real privilege covering the two re-wedding events, the Sikh wedding and this reception. I will just end off by saying that these guys, and I mean everyone here, knows how to party as the pictures prove!
