Last year I met Catherine and Phil when they were looking for a Blake Hall wedding photographer, and although their wedding was a long way off at the time I was really looking forward to photographing their wedding at such a lovely venue set in the countryside of Essex.
My coverage of the day started off at Catherine’s home with her bridal preparation. As always during this stage of the day, there was a fantastic, vibrant atmosphere as everyone had their hair and makeup done amongst all the other bits and pieces. I then made my way to Brentwood Cathedral for the ceremony. Brentwood Cathedral is spectacular and with the abundance of natural light flooding in through the windows it is a fantastic venue at which to photograph a wedding ceremony.
After the ceremony we all made our way to Blake Hall. It was the most perfect warm summer’s day and everyone enjoyed themselves, sipping drinks in the sun. Catherine and Phil put in a spectacular effort in terms of all the little details of the day, as you can see in the photos below. We managed to slip away briefly for some couple portraits just before everyone sat down for the meal and speeches, then afterwards the three of us went off for part two of the couple portrait session. The light was gorgeous as it was nearing sunset and this allowed me to use the light in various ways. Then it was back for the cake cutting, first dance, and further evening entertainment!
