Starting off at Tariq’s grandfather’s house we captured a series of lovely family photos and some bride/groom portraits with the magnificent palm tree in the back garden as a prop. Then we moved onto the mosque and after a series of speeches we once again, to my delight, tucked into those delicious curries. What a pity I live so far from the caterers! So this wrapped up seven shoots between the families and it will certainly remain as one of my highlights of 2010.
We started the day with some preparation shots of the girls at home. I then made my way down to Avenue House in Finchley for the ceremony. Avenue House is a lovely setting with sprawling gardens and once again the weather was absolutely perfect. After the ceremony we made our way outside and after taking a series of group photos, I had a really good session with Tariq and the boys followed by Sally and the girls. Nice creative stuff with bit of off-camera flash thrown in. Then it was over to the Emerald Suite in the North London Business Park for the reception. Having a gap of 2 hours prior to the events kicking off, I took the opportunity to capture a wide selection of detail shots. Much fun was had by all, especially later on the dance floor!
This was the first of three highly enjoyable ceremonies for Sally and Tariq which took place over a three week period. Today was the Chinese ceremony held at Sally’s parent’s house in Eltham. Tariq arrived a bit later and there were some hilarious moments when the girls made Tariq and his guys do all sorts of amusing dares, including waxing his leg (just a small strip…) and then serenading Sally, before allowing him to enter the house. After the tea ceremonies we headed off to Greenwich Park for some group and bride/groom shots. Once again the weather was glorious. Then it was off to Hong Kong City, a huge restaurant with delicious food for the reception. Sally then changed into a beautiful Chinese dress. As always, lots of fun was had included a lot of dancing and karaoke.
Just two days after their wedding, Khalid and Maddie’s Mosque ceremony took place. After some more bridal preparation shots and a series of family shots in Khalid’s grandfathers lovely house with exquisite garden, we headed up to the Mosque. After a succession of highly entertaining speeches we all tucked into the most delicious curries I have ever tasted, then it was off home to download and backup all the day’s images.
Khalid and his brother Tariq got married 3 weeks apart. With both of their engagement shoots completed a few weeks earlier, Khalid and Maddie’s wedding ceremony was first up in a series of five ceremonies between both couples – seven if you could the two engagement shoots! After a fantastic bridal preparation shoot I made my way to the West Lodge Park Hotel in Enfield. The weather was glorious and pretty much as good as it gets. After the registry ceremony we made our way onto the ample lawns of the hotel to capture some group shots. Then the three of us disappeared for a short while to capture some romantic bride/groom creative portraits before heading off to the reception, held at the RNB Banqueting Venue. After the Nikah ceremony held in the reception hall, the festivities began and continued way into the night with much fun had by all! Once again many congratulations to an absolutely lovely couple.
