Ollie and Heather booked me for their Wasing Park wedding photography after making an enquiry via my sister in South Africa. As it turns out Ollie is the brother of my brother in law’s daughter in law. Yes, that’s a mouthful but there is a convoluted family link there…
A couple of months before the wedding we had a really good engagement shoot at Virginia Water Lake, which really is a stunning setting not only for photography. For a day out in the sun, it is brilliant, vast, and highly recommended.
Come the wedding day and I started off by photographing some of Heather’s bridal preparation at home, which was absolutely buzzing with excitement and activity. We all then headed off for Wasing Park. I was delayed for a couple of minutes on the way in, with a few cows who refused to move out of the road. Thankfully they lost interest or were scared off by my hooting and I could get to the venue. Curious creatures they are!
We continued coverage of Heather’s bridal preparation and then swiftly moved over to the Garden Room for the ceremony. Then everyone enjoyed a drinks reception and canapés in the sun before we all made our way into the Castle Barn for some highly entertaining speeches, a recording of Ollie singing Nessun Dorma in his youth, much to everyone’s entertainment, and some great food.
We popped outside for a quick couple shoot during a break , and then after the first dance I wrapped up and said my goodbyes. It was one of the happiest, joyful wedding days I have been part of and Ollie and Heather were brilliant to work with.
